I'll look into it. If it's somewhat known as nu metal on websites besides Wikipedia, it's fine.

As far as Sevendust goes, their albums are all over the nu metal chart on RYM. They count.

Nobody gives a big enough **** about nu metal to really care if we're getting the genre right this round.

If you have less than 2% of the FB likes of Chacarron Macarron, you're probably in an avant-garde band.
Maybe lay off trying to make jokes here until you've had some practice first. This is a recommendation to keep you from embarrassing yourself.

Assuming "big four" isn't really about quality, but more about embodying the genre in the public consciousness:

Korn
Limp Bizkit
Deftones
Linkin Park

@JGuy, idk. I thought alt "groove" bands would probably be (maybe) like 311 or Primus. I don't know what "Groove metal" would be like, maybe Fear Factory?

That sounds like a Catch-22, if he lays off joke telling how can he get any practice? By all rights shouldn't he practice as much as possible by increasing his joke-output whether or not they pass or fail?

I'm not the one who compared myself to an artist who's hit single has over 50 times as many likes on FB as my whole band does.

You don't know what I'm talking about? You compared your band Wolves in Sheepskin to Chacarron Macarron to make an argument about its unpopularity, which has 3900 FB likes and is the theme for an Arizona Diamonback and a Texas Ranger as well as an internet meme, while your band only has 70 likes.

That's what the joke was.

Well, 3900 more people have heard a' that before Wolves in Sheepskin. And you are on the same website as the bandmember who links all of his music on his sig and labels them as porn to grab attention.
