Big Four Bands Thread Round 19: Gothic Rock

If your band has two or more guitarists who only play in unison, you might be in a nu metal band.

If the only people in the audience at your gigs is your mom and your meth dealer, you might be in a nu metal band.

If you have a rapper, you might be in a nu metal band.

If your rapper doesn't even like rap, you're definitely in a nu metal band.

If your performances have to be over before curfew, you might be in a nu metal band.

If you think cargo shorts, backwards baseball caps, unironic "who farted?" shirts, and/or white people with dreadlocks make for a good look, you might be in a nu metal band.

If you get a lot of bookings in places like Bakersfield or Florida, you might be in a nu metal band.

If you consistently have members leaving your band because they found Jesus to lead them out of the miserable lives that they lead, you might be in a nu metal band.

If your eleven year old niece likes to sing along to your heaviest song, you might be in a nu metal band.

Trust me I've heard it before and I cringe. I'm an unabashed fan of Blink 182 and my top tens aren't conpletely like these other guys.

As far as I'm aware, MB is a lot more sensible than that cheap, fanboy/troll central that has a Coldplay album in their overall top 100 rather than ANY hip hop and very little jazz. It's an extremely dadrocker-hipster chart because apparently there was some screwy war between them there. I'm positive a top 100 chart would be vastly different here, and more sensible... even if three Beatles albums end up in the top ten, it would be way more sensible.

I've got a top 1000. It's a little hobby I had on RYM. I had a chart of every album I had ever heard from best to worst. I just added a new on every time I heard a new album. I've stopped editing it.

And you wouldn't be surprised at how mnany people have top 100's for everything. Top 100 hip hop albums per year is something one of the mods did. He'd even go as far as 250.
