Steel Panther too. But where does the trolling stop and the comedy start? It's a thin line. Another good example of that might be Spinal Tap.

I see what you mean a little better now. The Gerogerigegege is THE example then.

From their wiki
Quote:
The Gerogerigegege is known for their releasing records with unusual concepts, such as 1989's Showa (昭和?) released after the death of Hirohito, which bookended a recording of people having sex to "Kimigayo", the Japanese national anthem. A special edition of Showa falsely presented itself as a Ramones bootleg called Britzkrieg '75 (Demo Tracks), with no mention of Gerogerigegege or Showa anywhere on the release.[1] The Night 7″ features a recording of a man defecating into a toilet after the usual "1 2 3 4!!" count. The compilation album Recollections of Primary Masturbation contains 338 songs, including the entirety of Tokyo Anal Dynamite as one track.

There are also some non-musical conceptual releases including Shaking Box Music: You Are the Noise Maker, which consists of 100 blank cassettes in a large metal box. This Is Shaking Box Music Part 2, which is a destroyed copy of the Mother Fellatio EP in a cassette case.[2] Art Is Over consists of a single octopus tentacle housed in a cassette box.

^ didn't they also make a record that was impossible to play/destroyed the owner's stylus if they tried or am I thinking of someone else?

I'm not sure but I know what you're talking about. I want to say it was Boyd Rice but that's just a guess I don't have faith in.

Tool.

Between lachrymyology the April fools jokes and so much more. Steel Panther, Spinal Tap, and Gwar I think are just straight up comedy acts. But tool downright trolls us.

Steel Panther gets my vote. I've seen them live and they're just as ridiculous as you'd expect.

Peter Steele faked his death a couple of times before he actually died. I remember waiting for it to be another hoax, wondering why he chose to do it after April fools day. After some time went by I realized it was the real deal.

Also, Tom DeLonge has been in the news a few times since leaving blink-182 taking about alien conspiracies and secret meetings with Bill Clinton. Either he is ****ing with people, or maybe there is some early onset schizophrenia at play.
