Those favourite lists are all going into my checking-it-out queue, so that maybe I can expand my horizons a bit. Listening to Pineapple Thief right now. Not bad!
Yes! Another one down for Pineapple Thief! So happy people are picking up on them. They've been one of my favorites for a while.

I can relate. My list seemed to slip into uncommented on obscurity pretty fast.

I know nearly none of the stuff on your list. I listened to some of the Jazz on your list. Quite far out of my comfort zone, but I wasn't bored!

This was definitely one of them: "Eric Dolphy/Booker Little—At the Five Spot".
I like the vibe it starts out with. Seems like something I could get into if I tried hard enough.

I think there was more than one.

Eric Dolphy is one of my all time favourites. Out to Lunch! and The Illinois Concert are both brilliant.

Freddie Hubbard—The Night of the Cookers and Slam Stewart & Major Holley—Shut Yo' Mouth! are also jazz.

Baaba—EasterChristmas, Quincy Jones—Big Band Bossa Nova, Mikrokolektyw—Absent Minded, and Various—Blue Funk are all somewhat jazz related to various degree and in various ways.

Mikrokolektyw—Absent Minded seems pretty cool and I gave it a few spins. Baaba must be pretty obscure, because I'm finding nothing at all on Youtube.

I admit to dodging the bossa nova stuff because I've got problems with that style. Probably just haven't heard the right things yet. I had a (misguided) Diana Krall phase. She probably ruined jazz for me for a while. So whitebread and dull...

I'm gonna return to it and see if it sticks.
