The Real OG

Ignorant motherfuckers all over the place are calling ripoff artists innovators. We're here to correct that. Name a musical innovation that's commonly attributed to one artist and tell us who the real genius is.

First up, Jimmy Page and using a bow on an electric guitar.

Isn't that kind of a self-indulgent idea to begin with (the bow on the guitar thing)?

Frownland 10-03-2016 10:32 PM

As if music/goddamned GUITAR PLAYERS weren't already self indulgent as ****.

The Batlord 10-03-2016 10:34 PM

But I mean, I'm sure that you can create different sounds with that kind of ****, but I imagine the motivation for something like that is more about how you can make a live audience go, "OH HOLY **** HE'S GOT A VIOLIN BOW THAT'S ALL CLASSICAL AND MOZART AND ****!!!"

Frownland 10-03-2016 10:39 PM

Uh, that's a fiddle bow dude, the **** even is a violin?

The Batlord 10-03-2016 10:41 PM

Is there an actual difference between a fiddle and violin bow? I was under the impression that fiddle and violin were just the same thing described by either rednecks or not rednecks.
