Get hyped

Frownland 06-15-2017 12:40 AM

Every time they drop an album I'm worried that they're going to become The Foo Fighters. Liked that clip in the announcement though.

Electrophonic Tonic 06-15-2017 12:47 AM

Totally reminded me of Gunman from Them Crooked Vultures. Even if the new album is a bunch funky robot dance numbers, there is still an underlying darkness and sinister nature to QOTSA across all their albums and you can pick it up just in this one clip. And for me, that still keeps them very much separated from the Foos.

They're close enough to make me concerned, even though they've proven me wrong each time.

I'm definitely interested in that Oneohtrix Point Never album. I just discovered them a little while ago and their last album was awesome.

Frownland 06-23-2017 09:02 PM

Their drummer rules huh.

The Batlord 06-23-2017 09:06 PM

You can't fool me. It's one dude.

Blank. 06-30-2017 09:51 AM

I can't find a release date for it but the next King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard come out later this year and it's a jazz based album. I'm not a big Jazz fan but I'm still excited.

Looks like it's available 14th July on Google play. Not sure if that applies elsewhere. I'm guessing there is probably some geo-zoning bullshit so not sure how widely it's being released.

Edit: in Aus at least it is now in Bandcamp, iTunes and Google Play.

Sept. 15th: Ariel Pink - Dedicated to Bobby Jameson

Blank. 07-13-2017 07:27 PM

The new Boris album was supposed to come out yesterday, but I can't find it on Spotify... :(

Zhanteimi 07-13-2017 07:30 PM

^ This is why I don't use Spotify. The first album I ever searched for on there wasn't there. I was all ready to pay the subscription fee, but when I gave it a test drive and saw that it lacks hundreds of albums I want to listen to, I gave it a pass.

Frankly, I rarely if ever don't find albums on Spotify. It's awesome, I can find some really obscure cool shit on spotify. I can only think of a few artists that don't put their music on spotify.

Frownland 07-13-2017 07:36 PM

I wonder if Japan has georestrictions?

There are a lot of albums I can't find on there but it's still got a good selection.

Zhanteimi 07-13-2017 07:50 PM

Not sure about restrictions. Maybe. In any case, I'm in Japan, and it doesn't work for me. So back to torrents and rar files from blogspot.

Tori Amos will release an album named Native Invader this September.
I'm a huge fan, so it's the main album I'm looking forward to for the entire year.
Her last several projects have been impressive, so my expectations are rather high.

The album cover looks great in my opinion:

Meh, I heard one Tori album and thought I was listening to a poor Bush wannabe. Only did hear the one, though. Could be a bad first impression?

What Tori Amos song sounds like "Glycerin" or "Machinehead"?
