I too was perma banned from RYM
 

I want to go back. Has any one else ever been perma banned then went back undetected. Also big shout out to man brother Goofie. He had the most fappable avatar's on RYM, and great sense of humor.

I got into a fight with the "4chan" element on the boards

I'm sure that went well. And now I'm curious about the 4chan element on RYM.

Not a big fan of last FM. I liked RYM's catalog abilities, and the users were pretty cool. Almost like a Facebook of music nerds. I logged in from about 4 computers, and it's been 6 months. Is it safe to try again?

It was a disaster. I got suspended from the boards then perma banned for telling a user through FB he was a loser.

Well I see no need to go on the boards there anyways. They're lazily set up and the discussions are boring. I did get genre banned one time (for voting up some genres on a joke album that mgmt had set up themselves for testing, and I had thought it was allowed) but I set it straight.

The 4chan element are the users that are constantly picking arguments on the boards, just for the sake of causing arguments. The 20 year old virgin keyboard warriors that are very computer savvy, but have never seen a woman naked.

Just stay away from the Community, listen to your music, and catalog it.

The guy was real obnoxious. I looked him up on Facebook and he was a total 27 still living in mummy's basement loser, and I told him he was a loser, and I feel better about myself. Perma banned. Honestly the main admins there have a MAJOR attitude. You ask a simple question and they bark at you, and make you feel like an idiot. I still want to go back. It's liked being hooked on drugs. You know it's bad for you, but you still keep going back.

Why? I joined but never really used it. tbh I don't care for the site. It freezes up my browser. And then there are all these stories about members getting banned from it. You don't need the site to enjoy your music, just find another. Plug.dj>RYM

RYM is best if you stay away from the boards. If you like to nerd out with your collection, and if you want to find new music, it's great. I use it to categorize, organize, rate, and rank the music I have, be it digital or physical copies. And I use it to find new stuff because you can search by genre, label, year, you name it!

RYM is pretty great. but the community is a bunch of pretentious asshats. Kinda like MB.

That's any forum because having an opinion and respecting your own taste makes you seem pretentious when you're only human.


My other forum I've had people tell me they were going to piss on my grave and I also got my quote neither people were perma banned. Only one person has ever been perma banned ever on that site and that's because he spent a good year or two spamming forums with page after page of bickering and slander and trolling. People are still crying about his banning and call the people that perpetrated the banning Nazis over it.

I should've just reported the trolling to a site admin, but I'm a grown ass man. I handle my own business. I stated my opinion, and someone called me a hypocrite. I said I don't care, and they insisted on egging me into an argument, and I took the bait. But for the record, the first shot was not fired by me. and I get banned?!?!?!? No that;s bull****. I was a paying member, and the site admins said I don't care. Let me repeat that I paid them not only for a full year subscription, but also donated $50 during the sonemic fund drive. And I get banned, but the 20 year old virgins who troll, and don't pay get to stay. I'm wondering if it's safe to go back in 2017? Maybe they wipe the slate clean or something?
