Thing is, I'm not really into country pop much. I like Dwight, Steve and Nanci and for the more hardcore, Emmylou, Willie and Crystal, and the Man in Black of course, but Shania always came across as more pop than country, so while I know her hits I'm not sure it's worth my delving into a full album, but I might.

Neko Case is not trashy, radio country pop. Her first album is a love letter to 70s **** like Emmylou, and after that it was more of a combination of indie and country. I'm pretty sure you'd love her.

That is an awesome album and the first country album I ever bought, but Redheaded Stranger and Townes Van Zandt are better. They're all on the same Top 10 though.
