Grizzly Bear - Yellow House

Let me know if you've already heard it.

Meatraffle - HiFi Classics

Clearly Frownland was paying attention to my thoughts on the albums grindy rec'd me near the end of my journal. This is something that fits exactly into the same niche as those albums did for me. It's different, it's creative, it takes risks, but it's also relatively easy to digest which in a format such as the one this thread uses, is pretty important. RYM classifies the album as post-punk, art rock, and indie, but I'm not entirely sure what I would call it. I've been listening to a lot of Parquet Courts lately, and I can see how the two might be related in the art-rock approach aesthetically speaking, but in terms of the sound this is on a spectrum of it's own.

In terms of the instrumentation, a lot of it reminds me of something I would come across on an abstract hip-hop project. Paul White in particular came to mind with a few of the tracks which relied heavily on the incorporation of horns and the like.

I can't pick a stand-out track as each track became my new favourite as I made my way through the listing. This will definitely be one to come back to outside of the thread for more listening.

I think it goes without saying this will climb over ICP and top the mountain as the current best album. Thanks for the rec Frown.

So you reviewed another album first just so you could say that ICP was never the "current best album"? ***got.
