I only have Kind of Blue because it was a gift. JTF called me out on it because I think it's overrated as ****.

My sister asked me if I liked Miles Davis before she got it for me and my answer was something like "well I'm a fan but people make too big of a deal about Kind of Blue". Either her gift was trolly or she thought my comment was.

Exo 08-03-2017 05:49 PM

It's what got me into jazz. I don't see it in any other way than how I see it which is basically like how people see older people they admire.

grindy 08-03-2017 07:56 PM

Still have just one LP.
A friend gave me his turntable over a year ago but I find vinyl just too impractical. I'd buy another LP if it was music I absolutely needed and there was no other way to have it. Hasn't been the case yet. Even then I'd most likely just rip it to my computer and never listen to the record again.

You know you're a music elitist when a Youtube music reviewer is too mainstream.

nah i actually am looking to sell off my collection. i'm just not sure what the best way to go about it is. the idea of having to mail one record at a time as they sell through discogs makes me hurt.

Why don't you send me your collection and I might want to buy some of them. What's your discogs user?

i use reddit a little bit, never checked that subreddit out. on that note though, what do you use to send your records in? i know you can get the mailers through amazon like this, is that the best way to go? i've only ever bought online, never sold.

I bought 100 mailers from U-Line but it was twice what you kust linked on amazon so I might go with Amazon there. That's basically how I ship them. I get free bubble wrap from my dads office and I reuse mailers from purchases I make a lot.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 10-03-2017 04:14 PM

alright, here ya go.

https://www.discogs.com/user/IAmRileyC/collection

nothing too special, but i'm not really looking to make a killing, just need to free up some space and since i stream all of my music now i'll just take whatever i can get for them. if you (or anyone else) is interested in anything, just let me know. i haven't listed them up yet because i still need to look into shipping costs and packaging, but i'm sure we can agree on a price.

i've got 50-60 others that i probably just won't bother adding as they're either in too rough of shape to justify charing someone for, or just 2 or 3 dollar thrift store pick ups. might try and unload them in bulk at a local store or something.
