Can't wait for the Stormzy review.

I predict a pleasantly surprised Trollheart.

I already have a desire to cut him some slack, due to that story you published. Seems like a nice guy.

I think he is yeah.

Would recommend not bailing after three tracks, if I remember correctly it warms up as the album goes on and the skippier tracks you might not be a fan of are more at the start.

Not trying to sway your opinion or anything just interested in this particular review.

Okay. Noted. Unless it's really terrible I'll give it a decent shot.

Don't believe I've heard a Death Metal band from Canada before. Good start anyway, very sort of prog metal in its approach though the vocals are definitely DM. Kind of a military feel to this, not that surprising as it's called “The Rise of Hannibal” and seems to follow a historic tradition that at least the titles of their previous albums shared, one about Caligula and one about Romulus. Now I read further, the whole project appears to be centred on the history of the Roman Empire. This could be very interesting. It's very well put together, and the instrumental “Suavetaurilla/Intermezzo” sounds more like something off a Power Metal album to be honest. For all that though, definitely one of the top DM albums I've ever heard. Total quality.

Check out more from this artist? Oh yes
Check out more from this genre or subgenre? Yes

I haven't been around the forums much lately but glad to see you liked that Jidenna album. I gave it heavy rotation for most of the spring. Definitely one of my fave albums this year.

A band who formed in 1976, disbanded in 1992 and reunited in 2008? And have been, apparently, a major influence on bands like REM? Sounds interesting. Yeah well I have to say, so far I find it quite boring. Very insipid and dull. Yeah, sorry: just don't see it. This is boring as hell.

What did I do? What did I say? Did I offend some tooled-up, blinged-out hip-hop god with fine biatches hanging off his arms like leaves off a tree? Did I mix up east coast and west coast rap? Is there such a thing as east coast and west coast rap? Well, I must have done something, to be subjected to, not two Future albums in the same year, but two Future albums in the same ****ing month! Forgive me, oh Tupac and Chuck D, or whoever runs the Hood In The Sky! I didn't mean it! Well, I probably did.

But damn it, I hated Future's first album of 2017, so is there any possible chance I won't hate his second? Lay yer bets, ladies, gentlemen and those undecided! Okay, well the first track is much better right from the off. Maybe this will be different. Actually, yeah: this is much better. More soul and r&b than the kind of dull hip-hop on the other album. I may actually like this. Hey: isn't the main theme of “Selfish” just “Stand By Me” slowed down a little? Good though. Does Rihanna add anything to this? Well, yes she does to be fair. A much better album. Maybe there is a future for this guy with me after all. Sorry, sorry.

Check out more from this artist? Maybe

Fear Factor: Moderate

Techno is not a word I tend to like in genres, nor House, but this isn't (so far) the hammering, Ecstasy-induced rave style I tend to dislike. It is a little monotonous though. God, this is now three tracks in and I didn't even notice. I'm falling asleep here. The vocals, when they're used, are sung in a flat, emotionless, bored voice. All right, there's nothing here I like. This is terrible.
