Yeah I could see how someone else would be into it; just not for me.

Discogs, I think.

Was wondering how you'd feel about that Necks album since it's pretty different from free jazz conventions. At least you know a little more about the less wild side of avant-garde jazz.
I'd probably quite enjoy listening to it at leisure. It's just for review, with March still ahead of me, I can't take the time and it's a hard one to review given that so much of it is almost drone-like in its similarity. Something I could maybe get into at some other time though.

I've decided to limit the "Not On the List" albums to a total of 15 each month, so that means potentially five members can each suggest three albums. For February, I have so far 12 albums, so if one other person wants to get their shout in, that'll be it. FCFS as ever.

Ah, their label is probably Germany-based.

I know it's been said before but maybe that's a sign that this isn't the best way to approach music my man. You're not enjoying it because there's more music for you to listen to that you probably also won't enjoy? Seems a bit mismatched.

My fault really. I should have announced it. Probably in the last few days, certainly the last week of the month is acceptable.

Okay, that would make sense.

Or I might enjoy. I've come across some incredible albums here, and I've only been doing this for two months. It's a trade-off; as you can see from the top twenties and bottom twenties, it's a mixed bag but nevertheless I'm still enjoying this immensely.

Album title: Only When We're Naked
Artist: Zak Abel
Genre: Dance/Soul/Pop
Nationality: English
Release date: March 1
Position in Discography: Debut
Fear Factor: Moderate
Familiar with this artist? No
Familiar with the genre or subgenre? No
Average RYM Score: 2.77
So we kick off March with something of a whimper. Let's see what this guys is made of. Hmm. Would appear to be flesh, bones, blood and some other stuff. Okay then: let's see what his music is like. Well you know it's not half as annoying as I thought it might be. No Autotune, for a start: this guy can actually sing. And the songs are decent, so far anyway. Some nice blues in “Deserve To Be Loved.” Surprising how quickly this album is over. Quite enjoyed that. A much better start than I had anticipated.

Check out more from this artist? Yes
Check out more from this genre or subgenre? Yes

Okay, tell you what: rather than wait to start March while I listen to all those albums (or as many as I can) I'm going to review them as I go through March, and will preface them with the "Not On The List" logo.

If you don't like that, you can suck a dick.
Would it be an idea to listen to albums not on the list for the month in question when you got to the appropriate date? For example, let’s say everyone pitched in with their April recommendations before you started with the reviews for that month, and one of the albums suggested was released on April 13. Then you would simply listen to that album once you got to that date in the Wiki list. Or maybe you prefer carrying on the way you’ve done it thus far?
