Amother so-called supergroup, the members of which means nothing to me, but at least it's not mind-numbing dancy K or J-pop. Opener is decent, but still, I don't know if it's just me and post-hardcore, but I find it hard to care. I mean, it's probably a good album, but for me it's just, you know, there. Nothing bad, nothing great, just ... there. I'm probably being unfair to these guys, but I just can't hear anything not only that I like, but that even makes an impression on ... hold on, the last track there ... well it was only a very short one, kind of a continuation of the twenty-six-second intro, but it was almost better than anything else I've heard on the album. Maybe that says it all.

Check out more from this genre or subgenre? I'd prefer not to but I'm sure I will

Okay, someone ****ed up bigtime. The next album up, Off the Grid by hip-hop trio Bliss n Eso is shown, but double and triple checks show it was released in April, so what the **** is it doing on the list for March? Nice one, Wiki! So in that case I'll put it aside till next month, hopefully forget I mean remember it, and go on with this one, which is from English rockers Bush. A good rocking start anyway, and “Mad Love” is a great song, as is “The Beat of Your Heart”. Next one's great too. Yeah, I think I could get into this. Good stuff.

Check out more from this artist? Think I will
Check out more from this genre or subgenre? Yeah

Album title: Number 1 Angel

Nationality: English
Release date: March 10
Position in Discography: Third
Fear Factor: Moderate
Familiar with this artist? No. Have heard of her
Familiar with the genre or subgenre? No
Average RYM Score: 3.25
What the **** is “bedroom pop”? No, be polite: let's see. Oh right: a genre where someone records their music at home rather than in a studio. Makes sense. Never heard of it before though. This apparently is a mixtape Charli made when she was “bored” waiting to release her third album. Sure, Batty and Goofle and who knows who are going to tell me Charlie is bae (which she does appear to be) and pop royalty, and how dare I diss her, but **** you all. I hear nothing here that interests me. Bland pop that has been done so many times before, and better. Nothing new. Fine, fine, “White Roses” is okay, quite good actually. One track stands out. Yeah, not for me thanks.

Note: I'll just say in advance, Batty, **** off.

Love Charli XCX but that mixtape was boring.

Now this I like from the start. Rattles along at a really nice pace, very catchy. “Out On My Own” is a great track, reminds me of INXS and REM. Title track's cool too, and the simple, almost folky acoustic “Love's Run Out” is unexpected and different. Yeah, really like this.

Fear Factor: High

Batty said to ignore the “death” part in MDM and if it weren't for the vocals here, yeah, I could. Second track is far superior to the first, some really good guitar work on it. Metalcore though: will it ever be for me? To be honest, when yer man shuts the **** up howling you can hear how good the music is. Trouble is, he doesn't stay quiet for long. **** him. Look at “None of This is the Truth” - some superb musicianship here, but most of the time it's lost behind his ravings and howls. See, for “Widowed” he ****s off and leaves the band to rack out a fine instrumental, and it's so much the better for his absence, but of course he's back for “Enter Oblivion”, and normal service is, sadly, resumed. Could have been so much better.

Nationality: Mexican
Release date: March 10
Position in Discography: Third
Fear Factor: Moderate

Ah, my second Latin pop album. Glory be. I already hate the percussion on this. You all know how little notice I take of drumming, but the drumming is so off here I thought the album had a glitch and was sticking. Well, on the first track anyway. Second one is much better, touch of the soft AOR about it maybe. Good catchy melody. She sings like a twelve-year old though. Or a K-pop singer, which may in fact be the same thing. Not bad though in fairness; some decent songs, some nice ballads. Pleasant, if you can get past her voice.

Check out more from this artist? I .. might

Album title: 50:50@50
Artist: Fairport Convention
Genre: Folk
Nationality: English
Release date: March 10
Position in Discography: Twenty-eighth
Fear Factor: Low
Familiar with this artist? I've heard one album, wasn't terribly impressed
Familiar with the genre or subgenre? No
Average RYM Score: 3.59
Fairport Convention have been around since the sixties, a big part of the folk scene that was popular back then and in the next decade. This album apparently celebrates their fiftieth anniversary, with six new songs and a lot of live material. I'm not a fan of folk, and the one time I did listen to one of Fairport's albums I was distinctly underwhelmed, but this is good so far. Like the reel or jig or whatever the **** it is on “Ye Mariners All”, and generally it's a decent mix of folk, traditional, country and kind of medieval music. I like this, a lot more than the other album I heard anyway.

Check out more from this artist? I may
Check out more from this genre or subgenre? Meh. Maybe.
