This seems like something that would come on during an episode of tim & eric, or as filler between any two shows on adult swim - definitely an unsettling element to it - something a little off

As far as the whole album, I liked the opening track, and there were a couple other fun moments (No Bueno in particular) but most of the time this was really hard to listen to. The beats are bland and generic and the way her voice is mixed and autotuned genuinely started hurting my ears after a while.

3.7/10

In respone to Frownlands review: My problem with this isn't that it's pop. It's that it's bad pop. It's some of the worst I've ever heard, really. It really re-frames my dislike of Ke$ha, Perry, Swift, Lily Allen, Spears, and all the other mainstream pop queens from the last decade and a half. They're all easily four times as good as this at their worst.

I didn't compare Nadia Oh to Rebacca Black just to be mean.

There is this looming mustard cloud of negativity in this thread. I think you are missing out on what it is aiming for. It's not Pop like Katy Perry or Taylor Swift or Lady Gaga, nor is it falling short of their caliber of pop - however you want to rank their music. I think it falls more into the category of EMD at least have some the elements or artistic goals of EMD. Take for instance Slapper. It was written and produced by Space Cowboy and picked up and played by DJ Diplo.

I don't think Goofle failed us in any way with his choice. I am very tempted to be swayed by everyone's opinion and doubt my own, but I stick with first impression of the album.

Nadia Oh - Slapper (Ayye)

You don't like it because it's bubblegum bass I think and are expecting different things from pop than what that subgenre offers.

I didn't rec it because I thought you would all love it just to be clear. I just wanted people to listen to some of the stupid crap I really enjoy, and see how it went over. I'll try and do a track by track review by the end of Thursday.

it's pretty good. ofc it reminds me a lot of PC music so that's always a plus.

That's ironic given how Goofle is generally anti-PC.

Goofle 09-13-2017 07:42 AM

Is there anyone who's still pro-PC?
