I kept thinking of the brothel scene in Easy Rider while I was listening to this album.
Pop culture has ruined me for this sort of musical endeavor. I'll give this a "like" and leave it at that. Now if you'll excuse me, I feel the irresistible desire to listen to the Electric Prunes. |
I feel kind of bad that this is my pick but I'm at a bit of a loss on what to say about it. He's working with a sound that dates back to Perotin and seems largely unconcerned with everything between the Renaissance and the 20th C. It's undeniably beautiful music. From the composer to the choir you have to applaud the effort and the artistry here. It would probably take me ten more years of keeping it in rotation to really appreciate it. 5/5 stars.
