Music in the 2020s

The next generation of composers are going to be computer programmers who develop the most interesting AI composers. Devolping improv skills for duets with computers will be a thing. Composing is going to mean understanding the past artists to lay the foundation for the base algorithms for self educating computer programs to grow into our next generation composers. Bands will be a mix of AI and human musicians.

Just make sure it has annoyingly insistent hooks and that you can dance to it.

Of course if Elon Musk and Stephen Hawking are right, AI will take over the human race and anyway, they won't have time to record monotonous dance music.

Actually I think the 2020's won't be all that different from today. Just about everything in the millennium has borrowed from the many genres that cropped up in the 20th century. Why would that change in the near future?

Add n to (X) is a band that appeared on the Peel sessions. John Peel is a interesting person. He was a radio DJ in the UK, he had finger on the pulse of what was happening at the time. If he played a band's single, or have them appear on his show virtually help launch that band.

Sean McBride (Xeno & Oaklander, Martial Canterel) uses entirely all hardware synthesizers (as oppose to software like FM8 which was use for the warble bass in dubstep). Sean McBride, Adrian Utley, and Timothy Wiles (Uberzone) are gearheads that collect a lot of old synths. Joel Zimmerman (Deadmau5) is another who uses analog modular synthesizers. Wow, I didn´t know they were on Peel! Interesting man indeed.
I actually liked that second song very much as well and thanks for the comments. I also use a lot of synths for my own little recordings, think of them like a mix of some of Eno´s 70s work in Music for Airports and some Bowie instrumentals from Low and "Heroes".
Maybe a guy like Max Martin ends up listening to some of Add X´s music and manages to create a poppier, hookier and more danceable version of their sound.

I have visited the 2020s and can confirm that this is accurate. There will also be something music journalists dub "The Cowbell Renaissance".
