it's whatever to not like certain artists but it's more the way you're willing to disregard entire genres because they dont fit your niche interest

about as weak as your "you're boring" because you don't like the boring trash pop I like
You're not a jazz player. Jazz players play jazz but that does not necessarily define their musical taste. Jazz players can like absolutely anything under the sun while still playing jazz. Do not equate your taste in music to the playing of a jazz musician because it is dishonest and ****ing stupid.

I like both Punk and Genesis. What's the deal? The Batlord know as much about Punk as four year old knows about world affairs after reading the back of a Captain Crunch box.

I think subjectively a genre can straight up not be worth your while

Yes but you like two genres which are really one genre and occasionally branch off in a way that would be acceptable to the practitioners of your chosen genre. No way you aren't a ****ing phony.

i have yet to find a genre that didn't give me at least a few very enjoyable acts. i'm sure nearly every member here would agree with me in saying that.

Over time, this is becoming more and more true for sure. Since earlier this year, I've even found out that some Tuvan throat singing and some klezmer music is pretty rad. Give me a few more years, and I'll like something in literally all significant genres.
