Do you know Clutch, Queens Of The Stone Age, or Monster Magnet at all?

I've heard music from all three, but it's only QOTSA that I've listened to full albums with. I'm not a huge fan, but I like several songs off Songs for the Deaf. I did not like the new album much...

I'm not really familiar with the other two bands as such; I've just got somewhat of an idea of how they sound.

Be sure to check out the rest of the record then since it works best as a full album listen imo (even though the tracks work really well on a standalone level as too).

I put it in my overstuffed bookmakrs folder of music I got from this forum. That makes for three hip hop albums that are possibly up my alley so far (+Open Mike Eagle, Boom Bip). Not bad.

The Rory Gallagher track is a bit more fun to listen to. He really gets busy with that slide guitar (sounds like that's what it is, anyway). If I ever make an 80's style action movie where a bar brawl suddenly breaks out, I'll have this track playing during the fight.
Who's Derek Ryan? Glad you liked the Rory track anyway: he was a real bluesman, but some of his faster stuff is more fun, I find.

I liked this quite a bit. I'm definitely finding out that (relatively) new classical music is way more interesting to me than 16th-18th century material.

Recently I got a CD with a variety of pieces from between the mid 19th century and early 20th. Erik Satie, Debussy and others. While not quite the same as the piece you posted here, I can see how one has followed from the other, and I like both styles.

^ I feel I may have linked you to her before; I can't remember. If you're not fond of that particular song, (though I assume you may already know of her) her earlier stuff is a bit less doom-laden.

I don't know much about this lady; I found her on youtube today and liked it.

.. and some more modern classical:

And if you happen to like moody cello music I'd suggest Julia Kent and Lost in Hildurness.

Sorry if that's too many videos for one post; I didn't really come in with a plan.
