Already a big fan of her music and I have all of her studio albums, plus some live albums and a live dvd. So if you want to show me something I don't already like, I guess that's a re-do

What I really like about McKennitt as a lot to do with that crystal clear voice of hers. The track you posted is definitely one of the better songs she has, but my personal favorite would perhaps be Bonny Portmore.

What I really like about McKennitt as a lot to do with that crystal clear voice of hers. The track you posted is definitely one of the better songs she has, but my personal favorite would perhaps be Bonny Portmore.

I'll probably be giving her more of a listen as my burgeoning project gets into the nineties. I'm not super familiar with Loreena McKennitt but I always liked the Mummer's Dance.

Recommended by Batlord: Destruction - Curse of the Gods

I haven't heard all that much from Destruction before, and probably generally more recent material now that I think of it. This track was really better than anything else I've heard from them so far...

It did eventually start sounding like a fairly standard 80's thrash metal track, but the intro part was really cool, and the first riffs to kick in at the 1:05 mark are badass, plain and simple. A bit further into the song, I'm not entirely on board with it (not that big on thrash tbh), but it's fairly fun to listen to.

I have the album on CD, but I must admit that I forget to listen to it much. I seem to remember it as a really moody album, performed with a lot of feeling, but I can't remember a single song right now. I guess I should make sure to get back to that one eventually. Sometimes, an album just sort of drowns amid all the other good stuff that you have on your shelf, your playlists, etc.

Destruction were never quite at the forefront of thrash, but they just do the damn thing really ****ing well. The riffs, man. The riffs.
