Rubber Soul: Beth Gibbons - Mysteries

Man... I haven't listened to this for the longest time. I couldn't remember any songtitles from the album, but the one you picked happens to be my favorite. You've got good taste my man

Batlord: Idina Menzel - Like Lightning

I like the calmly moody vibe of this song. The simple musical arrangement in the chorus works really well.
She's got a good voice, I'm not going to argue with that, it's just that I tend to really get into somewhat different types of voices.
But yeah, on a first listen, this seems pretty neat.

Neapolitan: Sleep Party People - Floating

Sine I did a whole bunch of songs all at once, I chose to only do the two tracks that you recommended specifically from this album:
Change in Time and In Another World. Maybe I will check out the whole thing at a later date.

Change in Time:
Ok first impressions are not too good, in that I'm admittedly not very into things that have that twee indie sound. But upon a closer listen, there really is some quite nice details in the music. There's some atmosphere to it, but I'm not entirely sold, especially not on the vocals.

In Another World:
This immediately sound more like my kind of thing. I'm not a fan of Radiohead, but somehow still pleased that it reminds me of them.
A bit further into the track, I'm thinking that I really love the bass guitar here. Some very cool, reverby instrumentation in some sections. It almost sounds creepy.
I no doubt enjoyed this song a lot more than the first track. I might come back to this album and see what other surprises it's hiding.

Trollheart:A-ha - Birthright

His voice is kind of evocative, so that's good. Those cymbals are unusually loud in the mix when all other instruments are quieting down. Hmm...
This doesn't strike me as the sort of song I could usually make up my mind about in one listen. It's very laid back and not catchy as such.
My first, possibly unfair reaction, will have to be that I think I prefer A-ha when they're more shamelessly catchy and energetic. This starts feeling a bit like U2, in a way.

Sorry. Didn't leave much of a first impression.

You're not the only one. I messed up and skipped several tracks from a couple pages back. I'll be getting there soon enough.
