I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums.

Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Banks, Collins and Rutherford. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. In terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, this album hits a new peak of professionalism. Take the lyrics to Land of Confusion. In this song, Phil Collins addresses the problems of abusive political authority. In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock.

What? He doesn't like Abacab because it's too much Pop - an album by supposedly by his favorite band mind you - but then he goes off and listens to Pop anyways and likes it? Nah, it makes sense. It's like how you claim to hate Metal for being "aggressive", despite loving Punk. Just cause an element works for one band/genre doesn't guarentee that you'll like that element in every band/genre.

You like aggression, but not when Slayer does it. TH likes Pop, but not when Genesis does it.

I'm just gonna accept that you're not this stupid. I hope. My "Albums of 2017" thread, which is the only place I listen to K-pop, decides what I listen to. Whether it's Italian rap, Vietnamese Jazz, Post punk, death metal or showtunes, I listen to what's on the list. So your point above makes about as much sense as your original quote about your favourite bands. As I said before, please, for the love of god, learn to logic. I say you're borderline psychotic for claiming Abacab to be one of the best albums ever recorded, and I think most if not everyone here would agree with me.
