You only like them because you sucked off Elvis first.

I'm not racist, some of my best friends are black.

Frownland 02-13-2018 01:56 PM

Wow so you shot past the regular ole white rocker and went straight for the eggshell white.

That's beyond the pale imo.

Paedantic Basterd 02-13-2018 04:28 PM

Did you set the poll to close, Ori?

Oriphiel 02-13-2018 04:34 PM

Nah, I didn't set the poll to close. But I've got hot and cold running Frown, so it's all good.

I prefer the live albums because they are more energetic.
Therefore just a 9/10.

My usual go-to recordings are The Name Of This Band Is Talking Heads and the Rome Concert 1980 bootleg.
You should try those, OQB.

Pretty much my thoughts as well. I saw them live a couple of times in the early 80's and they were a phenomenal live act. In addition to the live album and video you mentioned, these two are also on my list of favorite live Talking Heads albums and videos...

Talking Heads - Berklee Performing Arts Centre (1979)

Talking Heads - Capitol Theatre (1980)

Dear Frownland,

Vote already, you busty crustacean.

Anteater 02-18-2018 07:17 PM

Not unassailable but really good. Was torn between 7 and 8. 'Seen And Not Seen' and 'Houses In Motion' are my two favorites: Byrne is at his best as a vocalist the more off-the-rails he goes with the production. The biggest praise I could give Remain In Light, however, is that without it the superior Discipline by King Crimson probably wouldn't exist.

TechnicLePanther 03-03-2018 08:33 PM

I voted 9 because I really love this album and only "Listening Wind" is a song I'd skip. I prefer side A to side B, but both are very good.

EDIT- Also unassailable is ridiculous, everything is assailable. For example, "Listening Wind is a bland and lifeless song that offers little besides its mellow atmosphere."
