Some Metalcore/Deathcore albums as well as Cradle of Filth and Cannibal Corpse

Nothing wrong with a bit of Cannibal Corpse. Kinda lame and generic but still fun.

Nothing wrong with death core and metalcore. Who dismisses a whole genre as inherently embarassing?

Cannibal Corpse suck though. Throw an arrow and you'll hit a better death metal band.

I don't really care for them anymore they are the first death metal band that most everyone gets into when first exploring the genre. CC just doesn't really do anything for me anymore/

I'm a metal "purist" or whatever you'd like to call it I prefer not to have any labels in fact i'd rather just be called someone who dislikes all core bands but people usually turn that into "oh you're one of those metal elitist snobs"

Have you explored much mathcore? Probably not for you if you don't listen to anything on the punk spectrum, but worth checking out if you haven't. I'm pretty picky about what I like from the genre but what I do dig is pretty great.

And what about grindcore? Very separate from metalcore cliches.

That's because you don't know about dat 90s ****. Metallic hardcore (separate from melodic metalcore Killswitch-core) is one of the best things ever. How can you go wrong with combining Slayer and Madball and math rock and post-hardcore and whatever the **** else?

I can't remember the name of the artist but I got an unwanted vinyl copy of a dancehall album called "Alright". It wasn't too embarrassing since hardly anyone knew the artist but that created curiosity and people used to stick it on. I used to blush violently as the cheese oozed out of the record and into our hears.

I have tons of embarassing **** from my early teens. Although it's not really in my collection, more like in some box in my basement.
Limp Bizkit, Bloodhound Gang, Slipknot, Matchbox Twenty, Three Doors Down, Marilyn Manson (although I still think that Manson had some good songs, although Idon't listen to him anymore at all), System Of A Dawn...

I'm not gonna sit here like an ******* and pretend like I can't rock some Sean Paul hard as a mother****er.

Whenever I purge my music & movies for a run to the used cd/dvd shop, it's because I'm no longer interested/intrigued/entertained by the cds, not because I'm embarrassed by it.
