I thought IDLES 2017 debut album Brutalism was ok and showed strong promise. Their new album though, Joy as an Act of Resistance, is much better and shows that they could become a stronger face and sound in the post-punk scene.

I was really underwhelmed by their 2017 album as well, I'll have to check the new one out.

Dude that debut album solidified them as one of the leading faces in modern post punk hands down. This new one really brings it home though.

Waiting for the new Clutch album currently, but there's a handful of albums from this year that I think were excellent.

Judas Priest - Firepower
Fu Manchu - Clone of the Universe
Lucifer - Lucifer II
Saxon - Thunderbolt
Loudness - Rise to Glory
Iron Angel - Hellbound
Sleep - The Sciences

'IL Mostro Atomico' from that new Fu Manchu album is incredible. It features Alex Lifeson, and is probably the heaviest song the band has ever done. Sludgy riff heaven.
