So far it sounds pretty generic. Like, vocalist aside if you told me any one of these songs was a new Exodus/Slayer/Overkill/etc track I'd believe it. They all just sort of chug along with that modern reformed thrash band heft and production that can get pretty faceless if their aren't any solid ideas behind them. Exhorder are doing a solid job of that kind of thing with some commendable fire and visceral riffs but I don't know if this is above a 6.5. Maybe a 7 if they pull a few songs that are actually memorable out of their ass (I'm about a third of the way in).

Oh hey Possessed released an album this year for some reason too. It's kinda ****ty but also charming. Like, Larry Lalonde isn't involved and the guy taking his place can't do that hellish noisey thing Lalonde could do so they don't even really sound like Possessed, just some death thrash band, but they're trying so hard and Jeff Becerra's voice ain't great but he's clearly having fun, and the production is... "off", but also doesn't sound like it was pulled off the shelf at Modern Thrash Walmart. I'm not appreciating it anymore than the new Exhorder but I am kinda having more fun with it.

Eh, he gave them a lot of their sound even if they could have used a rhythm guitarist.

Either way Possessed have a solid comeback that's growing on me by the minute. I think I was being a little cynical about it cause I'd just listened to Exhorder's entire new album and was feeling kind of impatient by that point. I do not know why metal bands feel the need to write hour long albums. Doesn't it cost more to make longer albums? Does it actually help sales? 30-40 minutes is all you need if you're not some progressive or avant garde metal band.
