Overrated is simply based on how their common rating and status compares to what they've contributed to the music community. Dumbass parrots of music fans overstate Floyd's significance and innovation despite it being based on genuine significance and innovation. Get that through your ****ing head.

The amount of space for music in humanity’s collective consciousness is limited. We know what Cecil Taylor contributed to music as an art form. We also witnessed the lack of media coverage of his death. Cecil Taylor’s music, from an artistic perspective, is far more important than Pink Floyd’s but Pink Floyd takes up a much larger piece of humanity’s collective vocalized music appreciation pie. Pink Floyd gets way too much of that pie. That’s a long winded way of saying Pink Floyd is, in fact, very overrated.

Got to see Allan twice in small venues when I was back east. Rooms were packed both times. 98% male guitarists.

Jaw dropping even more in person. Also have seen Steve Morse, Al Dimeola, and John McLaughlin. Again, jaw bruises each time.

I only stand by what I like in this very moment. Past iterations of me has always been on all sorts of embarassing musical misadventures.

I'd say I like a good amount of bands that are pretty musically oriented, but I want both the vocals and the music to feel fleshed out, generally. I like some purely instrumental music too, but yeah, I guess it's fair to say that I'm fairly vocally oriented. The way I would put it is that I'd rather have no vocalist than half assed vocals.
