More overrated and bad bands.

Simply Red are a band from the 80's and 90's. I was unfortunate enough to have to listen to the Best of Simply Red while I was growing up. I know the hits Something Got Me Started,Money's Too tight to Mention, If You Don't Know me by now and Stars. This band is pretty overrated and bad. My mom sure loves them but I sure as hell don't.

Bon Jovi. We all know this band and their hits so I'm not gonna mention them. This band is pure 80s pop under the disguise of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal.Their style got less glam rock towards the 90's but still stayed just as bad. I definitely do have an attachment to this bands hits like Keep the Faith and Always because I grew up with this crap. But this band is just one mans personal ego massage. The band is called Bon Jovi which is the name of John Bonjovi so the whole band is not even really a band, the band is a solo project with some hired hands playing the instruments. These pussies are the kind of band you're mum certainly likes and you will definitely find their albums at Target unlike cooler and more rebellious bands like GNR and Metallica. Very overrated band that still get way too much attention than they deserve.

Hands off Bon Jovi, *******! :D Look, you say the bolded like it's a bad thing. Also, you know ****: the members of Bon Jovi have been together since they were kids. They're certainly not "hired hands" as you propose. They all contribute to the songwriting, they've all been there for all the albums (up to the point when Richie Sambora left) and they don't play with other bands, so they're not session musicians. You obviously know nothing about Bon Jovi. As for using his name for their band, plenty of others have done this. It doesn't mean they're not a band. As for harder, tougher songs, do yourself a favour and listen to These Days. About as dark as it can get with Bon Jovi. I'm going to take a leap here and say that all you've ever heard from the band is their hits. Everyone here bar me hates them, but that doesn't mean ****. Listen to their albums and then see if you can repeat what you're saying here, ignorant and ill-researched as it is.

GnR made music to be a pussy to. W.A.S.P. and Motley Crue made music to eat pussy to.

Like, come on, man. Listen to that singer. Listen to that riff. You know it's true.

This has to be a Rickroll, this has to be a Rickroll.... :D

I do know a decent amount about Bon Jovi actually. I know that Richie Sambora and the rest of the band have been there since the beginning. I didn't really know about who wrote the songs in the band. But I still think that it's all just about Jon Bonjovi. He's the focus of all the attention and all the other guys are totally replaceable. But anyway that's how most bands are anyway.

Well if you know that, then your comment about them being "hired hands" is even more idiotic. You may hate them, but don't lie or make false assumptions about their contribution to the band. It just makes you look stupid.

Also, of course Jon is the focus: the band is in his name, he's the frontman. Were all the members of Queen or Lizzy just "hired hands" too, just because people associate the band with the lead singer? Please.

Alright you've got a point, the members aren't hired hands. They're a real band even though the focus is all on the lead singer.

I still wouldn't wanna be a musician in a band where the focus and the name of the band is the lead singer. I would feel like I am in the shadow and worshipping one man like he is a god or something and I do know there are other bands that do the same thing like Van Halen. But I still think it sucks for the other musicians in the band. Kind of like in the movie Almost Famous when the band sees the new t shirts for the band Stillwater and all the other members are out of focus while Russel Hammond is right at the front.

I don't know if you are a musician but if you were, I bet you'd be happy to be in any band that gave you a chance, and that hopefully provided you with a paycheck. Anyway, reviling a band because one person is the focus is beyond ridiculous. This is the case with so many bands. It's just how it is. Someone has to be the frontman, or frontwoman, or front-undecided. Were Black Sabbath any worse because Ozzy, and later Dio, were the focus? Purple/Gillan? Someone will always be the focus, and to say you wouldn't play in a band that either played under someone's name or afforded too much attention to one person, is really odd. Guns & Roses. Devin Townsend. Alan Parsons Project. Prince and the Revolution. The list goes on. None of these bands were any the less because the focus was on one person.
