Sorry if my post offended you. It's just my opinion. Everyone has their own individual tastes. QOTSA just don't appeal to me. I just heard go with the flow on spotify and i can confirm right now that I still think they suck. The song is a 3 power chord riff that never stops until the song finally ends. There's no different part for the chorus or even a bridge too make the song even a little bit more interesting. If that were just a lesser track on the album maybe it wouldn't be that bad. But the song was the first single off of the album and it even had a music video. If that's the best they can do they obviously ****en suck. That song makes green day's songs seem technical. I've got nothing against Josh Homme personally. I just hate his band and music. I don't think they or their music deserves the attention and praise it gets.

Then you better chuck all your rock and/or roll music in the trash and go listen purely to jazz and classical. Technical ability is irrelevant unless you're trying to make technical music.

Boy, he'd sure hate krautrock, ambient or drone.

The song is supposed to have this constant, driving, forward movement. The music video is a car driving non-stop on a straight line road for a reason. It would be boring if all their songs were like this, but it's the only one and I think it's a really cool song that makes great use of this simple idea.

You're right that constant forward movement is probably the only good thing about the song. That's not enough to keep me interested in it. And anyway I hate the other single they released from that same album as well called No One Knows. I also think that the production quality is pretty flat, they should remix and master it maybe that'd make it a little bit easier to tolerate.

It's cool you don't like the song. I just want to defend simplicity if it's done in an inspired way.

Generally not a fan of the way the album sounds. Kind of cardboard like. I looked it up and was surprised to see that it wasn't produced by Nick Raskulinecz. Sounds like the kind of over compressed, flat production job he tends to do.

I will give this guy a lot of credit, unlike Nick, he actually responds to people rather than running in circles and repeating the same bull****, he doesn't come across as having angry old man syndrome, and has legitimate reasons for disliking the bands.

Keep it up, nia. Learn how to paragraph better, and you'll be a fine addition to this forum.

Yeah I guess it was a rant. I've been inspired by this podcast that I've been listening to called Your Favorite Band Sucks where they criticize overrated bands. That's why I picked the bands that i brought up because I wanted to mention only bands that have reputations as being great even though they actually suck. If I was gonna mention bands that everybody already knows sucks like Nickelback the list would have gone on for days.

Yeah but you ranted. You didn't present any real arguments, just a string of "I hate this band". Another thing you did is that: every time you changed to another band you hated you started with "another band I hate is.." so it all looked sort of cut-and-paste, and your opinions, while yours to have, didn't really stack up. You need to realise that you may be (and in fact were) trashing bands others here might be fans of. And yeah, the paragraphs thing, dude. Holy ****ing ****. Do you know how hard it is to read one massive block of text? I'm known for my Walls of Text, but even I use page breaks and paragraphs.

Paragraphs suck. They caused 9/11.

Yeah fair play I guess. But it's going to take more than just proper formatting to make the OP one of us. He's going to have to learn to take on board the opinion of others, debate rather than rant, and of course, as we all have done, walk a high wire unaided across two buildings at midnight. Man, I hated doing that, but we all had to do it!

Bump this thread 15 years after I’m dead and gone. You all will be bitching about crazy young man syndrome.

But I have to admit growing old does make you crazy. The longer you stay on this planet the crazier you’re going to get.

When I was a kid 2001 was the impossibly modern distant future but now 2018 is like an even ****tier 1975. Tell me that wouldn’t drive you crazy.

PS The White Stripes were one the better Zeppelin tributes.

Saw them twice. Once in a small club and it was great and once on a huge festival stage where it didn’t feel like they had enough presence.

They have a few good songs.
