Default Non rock artists that have been inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame. Why?

The Rock Hall of Fame has in the recent years been inducting pop and rap artists into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. I don't know why the hell they are doing this. Gene Simmons has been very vocal with his criticism of N.W.A's induction. Their excuse is that they have the spirit and attitude of rock n roll and that's why they deserve to be there. What a load of crap. To me they should be inducted into the hall of fame of their own genre which is Rap music. I have nothing against N.W.A or Tupac or Run DMC or Public Enemy but I don't understand what they think is so good about being in the rock hall of fame if they aren't even rock artists. Even pop artists like Madonna and Abba have been inducted which also makes no sense. They really have made some bad decisions which has ruined the legacy and credibility of the rock hall of fame. Can someone please give me a damn reason for why it's a good idea to induct non rock artists into the rock hall of fame cause I don't get it at all.

As if the rock artists in the HOF weren't already a joke.

NWA/Public Enemy/Run DMC I can kind of understand. I would understand Wu Tang being included too.

2Pac not so much.

imo Tupac is closer to Chuck Berry than Yes is

I know this isn’t how logic works but my reasoning is rock’n’roll is black and hip hop is black therefore hip hop is rock’n’roll

lol.

You gotta give me some leverage here

If you’re gonna include yes and Genesis (are they in) and rush and not Tupac you’re pretty much saying rock’n’roll is white not black

Then black dudes can say hey we invented it

Makes it a little harder to justify not letting them in the country club

Nah I'm not saying rock music is just for white people, it's certainly not. Lenny Kravits, Living Colour and Jimi Hendrix are all rock artists that would make sense if they were inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame. I just don't think they should mix the musical genres up and put rap artists and pop artists in with rock artists, it just doesn't make sense. It's supposed to be a rock music hall of fame.

Lenny Kravitz representing black folk in rock . He's whiter than Tim Kaine.
