MB Bowie Classics: "Labyrinth" OST

I'm very dubious about including this, being a film soundtrack and all, but then it is in his discography, so, you know, I guess listen to it and vote if you want to... |
This being included makes me happy!

Bowie doesn't have many turds in his musical punchbowl but, unfortunately, this is one of them. Five songs composed by Bowie, six composed by Trevor Jones, and one featuring music by Jones and lyrics by Bowie.
The only song here that stands out (and not by much) is "As the World Falls Down" by Bowie. The main reason it stands out is because it sounds like Bowie doing a Bryan Ferry impersonation both musically and vocally. Bowie's contributions to this album just sound like typical mainstream pop of the time. Dated and forgettable. 1/5 |
Corny soundtrack from a corny movie.

Ah **** yaz! This isn't half as bad as you're all making out. A half-decent movie, and I like the fact that Bowie not only wrote some of the music but also starred in it. That "Goblin Battle" is Alan Parsons Project 101 though! And I could live without two versions of "Underground", though it's a good song. "As the World Falls Down" definitely the standout, but some good stuff here. Hey, at least it isn't Never Let Me Down. Oh. Wait...

Horrible record
5/5 just to **** with the polls ROCK THE VOTE!!! |
