What do people think of Low? I like it and it's clearly a very good album, but I never found the second side half as impressing as people tend to make out - especially considering the other great material of the same sort (e.g. Eno's) which had already been done prior.

I think it's good if you put it into context.
He wasn't an avant garde musician , he was a pop singer with an ear for a song.
You think , the modern day equivalent of Bowie putting out Low is someone like Robbie Williams coming out with a jazz fusion album AND it being good. Which as you would imagine is highly unlikely.

True, I hadn't really thought of it that way. With that in mind it is very, very ambitious.

Best track off side 2 imo, by a stretch, is Warszawa

Low is one of my favourite albums ever. I quite like the second half... I find it invokes a lot of imagery, which it should given Bowie's intentions with those tracks.

My favs are Always Crashing in the Same Car from the first half and Warszawa from the second.

Same - and A New Career in a New Town sounds like a bit of a transition between the two.
