OOIOO - n i j i m s u

This is easily one of their best albums, if not their best which is saying a LOT.

If i havent heard one piece of material recorded in 2019, i would have been fine. that said, here’s some good stuff that came out this year:

Swans,
Purple Mountains,
Carla dal Forno.

then here’s some other albums i enjoyed, tho i wouldnt call it best of anything or something of the year. just a bunch of good records.

Stephen Malkmus, Big Thief’s both albums, Freddie Gibbs & Madlib, DJ Muggs & Mach-Hommie, Dury Dava, the Flaming Lips, Fontaines DC.

Iggy Pop is incredible on stage even ain his 70's. I also very much enjoyed Max Cooper’s live performance, his record is okay but it seems the visual part was pretty important too.

Track of the year: Not by Big Thief.

Great post. I’d be interested in your top whatever tracks of the year.

Irreversible Entanglements - Homeless/Global

Firy, off the hook free/spiritual jazz with spoken word from Camae Awae (aka Moor Mother). So damn good, they played this at the Big Ears set that made me a massive fan of them. I need to rethink that list I posted earlier.

Petter Eldh - Koma Saxo

Funky experimental otherworldly jazz goodness. This slaps, my dudes.

My favorite album of 2019 was by far was Father of the Bride by Vampire Weekend. I think that's a masterpiece.
