Saying goodbye to the Willow avatar hurt a little, and maybe sometime I'll get nostalgic and change it back, but not today. Carrie Brownstein in drag is what I'm about.
Btw Gang of Four is a bit of an optimistic choice I think

For reference, I play music for my kiddos on Friday afternoons during “flex time,” which is really just an excuse for them to hang out and not do schoolwork. They’re 12 and 13 so they’ve got pretty particular views on music, and so far I’ve just been playing stuff I thought they’d like, with some sliiiiight attempts at bending their level of comfort. So far I haven’t had complaints.
I appreciate all the suggestions. Some of this is way too out there for them, but I’m listening to everything, so keep it coming!
So you want stuff that's out there. Why didn't you say so in the first place?

But if you ask my opinion, I would go with more electronic music. But hey, before you play these songs threaten them with detention if they don't like them, that should thwart any complaints from the peanut gallery.

and ain’t no 7th grade class giving no ****s about London Calling.
Depends on the 7th grade class. If they're raised on hip hop then maybe not but if they're raised on rock then hell yeah. I've tried getting a black guy to listen to it and it didn't work but I imagine it would have gone differently with a cracker.

I don't know about that album but this specific song could tempt them. It's the most accessible song and one of the key tracks to introduce me to post punk.

You know what 7th graders are good at? Shifting the blame. You should out this fault in them and then play this song.
