Frownland, Neapolitan, rostasi,

pages 3 and 4 of this thread,

your posts are so ...,

big and beautiful.

Make me want to read them—but not now—at a time when I can savour them—(relatively at least) soon.

Btw, occasionally I look for a decent video of a CSA-flag burning, but alas, my efforts have been fruitless.

I remember a clip after the SC upheld the right to burn the American flag, and some exercised it. For me, the most humourous one was where a guy lit it with a sparkler while Born in the USA was playing on a boom box.

I suppose this is a fantasy of mine. Burn the CSA flag: maybe by torch, perhaps even by a guy in a pink klan robe, to the tune of ..., what?

Sweet Home Alabama?

Freebird?

Charlie Daniels's South's Gonna Do it Again?

I wonder.

Thank you for all the kind words and have a nice life. Don't forget to read up on Appomattox. The honorable and noble General Lee has surrendered to General Grant. There was a peace treaty and the war is over I do declare. The Southern states are now part of the Union.

You won't be missed. Adios. Grab some chitlins and sweet tea on your way out.

Huh?

Was Lee all that good? He had some admirable qualities, but good?

Peace treaty?

For the CSA it was a war of independence (which I think was their right) though essentially it was to protect slavery (which wasn't).

For the US—at least some of the unionists, it was an insurrection. I'm not sure if there was an actual declaration of war, hence no need for a peace treaty. It was also wrong to deny Southern whites the vote—as they were technically US citizens (which means that Falklanders should be able to travel freely to and fro Argentina as well as vote there, I suppose), but it's hard to grieve the short time when newly free blacks took over the state legislatures.

It was complicated: something Northwinds is ignorant of or deliberately ignoring—perhaps in order to divide America's political left further.

They gave us LBJ and Carter, while the North gave us Reagan, Massachusite Papa Bush, and Trump.

He sure must be hangry. Never seen a person so hangry before. He must be starving himself up there. Let's also offer him some fried chicken, collard greens with ham hocks, and corn bread. He won't be hangry no more once he gets taste of that good ol' Southern cooking.
