Parker may well be the biggest factor in the current generation's approach to self produced bedroom pop.

But he's hardly the originator - to my eyes he's just the modern J. Mascis / Dinosaur Jr from the 90s.

And apparently Nick Drake produced all his albums in his bedroom as well back in the late 60s / early 70s.

Essentially, from the time the technology was available it's been happening. To claim that a modern retro act is an originator is laughable and just shows how little you actually know (even if I do like Tame Impala).
