Middle Aged Man, looking to Find Rock, Blues and Jazz do Magazine still exist?

I'm a new member but I come with a purpose. I want to pick peoples brains in finding post 2005 music that is Rock, Blues or Jazz. Now, in Jazz I feel I'm covered because I do subscribe to a Jazz Magazine called Downbeat. But Rock and Blues, I have no idea where to look to find new and good music.

Again, this isn't a song recommendation thread but more of a resource recommendation thread. I feel a magazine like Rolling Stones once served this function, but now it doesn't do that. So, are there Magazine you can recommend? Or Websites? Again, this would be for Rock and Blues. I do like Hip Hop and Rap and World Music, so if you have suggestions there that would be great.

I know there is good music out there, I've seen smatterings of it here and there online. But an actual resource would be great. In terms of musical subscriptions, I subscribe to Amazon Music and own a few Amazon Echo's. This may be a problem if Amazon's collection doesn't contain certain musicians. I do have a free Spotify and free Pandora account. But my go to is Amazon Music. So, if even you can suggest Music Platforms that would be great to.

I don't subscribe to magazines, blogs, or anything like that. I practically use YouTube exclusively as a resource.

What's an actual detailed process of how you keep track of your stuff and how do you find new stuff? I'm just curious how people can use YT exclusively because I know a friend who does just that and he's an encyclopedia. I just have never been able to stay organized.

I use YouTube quite a bit too. I make playlists to keep track of some things, but I'll usually just DL tracks I'm interested in, and if I like the artist/tunes I'll buy the album, and everything is stored and organized on an external HD. As far as discovering new stuff, YT works similarly to Pandora with algorithms and past search history where if you play a tune it'll try to play similar ones, but I'll also supplement that with searches. For instance, if I wanted to find New Rock Music created after 2005, I'd do a Google search for "New Rock music" and then click on the "Tools" menu item (located just under the search bar) and then change the default "Anytime" to the custom dates I'm looking for. It's all based on ones ability to get creative with search terms.

There are a lot of good writers out there with publications like The Quietus, but you just can't beat Rateyourmusic charts when it comes to online music resources.

That works really well, from what I just tried. They limited the results to 1000, but I'm not sure if that's just from not being logged in.

5000 for me when I'm logged in. I never really go more than 300 deep anyways when I'm perusing anyways.

That's based on user ratings though which is a lot like finding good movies using IMDB ratings. They think Dark Knight is one of the best movies of all time.

That isn't to sh*t on RYM though. On the contrary, I endlessly browse RYM user created lists for content. That's like 95% of the way I discover new music nowadays. Here's a good starting point...

How dare you

The genre filtering is what's up when it comes to the charts, you don't even have to bother with how they're rated. I like putting a random letter in the genre field and trying to find a genre that's new to me to explore.

^ I'd have thought that you've just found one, PGD! There is an extraordinary quantity of music recs and reviews here on MB. It's probably my main source for new ideas, along with Youtube which others have mentioned.
For some reason, I kind of dead-ended with RYM, which is perhaps the fault of my own limited way of exploring it. Perhaps I'll try the Frownland method.
Websites I use to get reviews, back-up info, discographies, etc are allmusic.com and progarchives.com
