Oh, and I KNEW this was an original. I mean, the Boss, a Jersey lad, had to be, right?
Except I later (much later) found out it was by some guy from LA who you've probably never heard of. Weird, huh? Wonder whatever happened to him? |
That's more like it! :)
I only just recently went through Bowie's discography, and Wild is the wind sounded so particular that I went and investigated whose it actually was. |
Do Ya, which I always thought was jus an ELO song, but no ho ho ho it aint:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2I5kH0klENs I probably don't need to post the other version. |
Yeah well... technically Roy Wood was in the Move, so it's almost an ELO song. I know he wasn't with them for A New World Record, but, you know...
|
But... but I didn't know.

Ignorance of the Law is no excuse, Citizen! |
To be honest I'm not 100% sure if at some point I knew this and then forgot, or maybe I had a subconscious knowledge that this wasn't a Jimi Hendrix song (especially because of the lyrics) but I'm pretty sure I never heard the original so:
It's been so much associated with Jimi Hendrix that supposedly even Bob Dylan said "This is Jimi's song, I just wrote it". And another Bob Dylan cover: My personal preference is for the covers...:D |
Dylan's been covered by quite a few people/bands. The most covered artist out there, besides the Beatles.

I introduced my friend to Laibach, and he didn't realize that Sympathy For The Devil was a Stones cover, lol. He told me he doesn't listen to the Rolling Stones, but I still gave him ****.
