What contribution has your city/state made to music?

Dublin has given the world
Good*: Thin Lizzy, U2, The Script
Bad*: Jedward (sorry), Boyzone (sorry sorry), and I think we have to take responsibility for bloody Riverdance (sorry sorry so sorry).

* Good = bands or artists you don't feel the need to tear out your eyes in regret and remorse and embarrassment over

* Bad = well duh, work it out.

So what has Baltimore given the world besides John Waters?

Good: Billie Holiday, Cab Calloway, the Orioles, Crack the Sky, Kix, Beach House, Animal Collective

Bad : Ronnie Dove, the Peppermint Rainbow, Mario

Also people born in Baltimore but who made it somewhere else include: Frank Zappa, Gina Schlock (Go-Gos), Ric Ocasek (the Cars), David Byrne (Talking Heads), and Cass Elliott.

I didn't see Grace Slick on wiki. Wasn't she also from Chicago?

Plankton 12-16-2021 09:17 AM

I only remember hearing 'Seether' by them.

She was born in Highland Park, so I guess they left her out along with quite a few others like Dan Fogelberg.
