In my Fictional Axl and Cake Cream Fan Fiction, Cake Cream released their Debut Album, All The Sweet Filling. Just a couple of days later, Claven Records forced Axl to make Cake Cream release their Sophomore Album. Axl protested this as Cake Cream had JUST released All The Sweet Filling Debut just a couple of days ago and they had just done a show at The Marriott

He thought them releasing a Sophomore Album just a couple of days later and after The Marriott Show would be overkill. He protested that a Sophomore Album should be released at least a year after the Debut Album, not a couple of days later. Claven Records continued to hound Axl into making Cake Cream make the Sophomore Album that day. Axl asked Cake Cream of they wanted to make the Sophomore Album that day. They all said,"Hell no!" Axl told Claven Records that Cake Cream didn't want to release the Sophomore Album that day. And protested that they were tired. Claven Records continued to push the Sophomore Album. Axl finally relented and told Claven Records that Cake Cream would make the Sophomore Album that day. Claven Records was satisfied.

Axl decided to get Current Guns N'Roses to record the Sophomore Album and they agreed to do it as a favor to Young Axl and Cake Cream. Axl wrote 10 songs for the Sophomore Album and Guns N'Roses actually recorded it.

Cake Cream and Axl turned in the Sophomore Album as Cake Cream 's own and called it Tasty Cake. Claven Records put it on ITunes and although it went to number one, Fans were suspicious as Current Guns N'Roses doesn't sound all that much like Cake Cream and they questioned the Sophomore Album being released just a couple of days after Cake Cream's Debut Album and Tasty Cake sounding like a Cover Band of Cake Cream recorded it. Claven Records themselves admitted they forced Axl to make Cake Cream make the Sophomore Album that day. They admitted that Tasty Cake did seem off.

Do you guys know any real life Bands that released their Sophomore Album just a couple of days after their Debut Album ?

I know there were artists that released two different albums on the same day, Bruce Springsteen, notably. I guess Guns n Roses did with the two Use Your Illusion albums too.

But I can't think of a band that released their first two albums within, say, a week of each other, especially since the seventies (Artists sometimes would release three or even four albums a year in the 50's and 60's- they usually sucked of course )

That's what I was thinking. I don't know of any band at least in recent times that released their Sophomore Album just a couple of days after their Debut Album.... That would seem REALLY weird to me...

KISS - every member released their solo albums on the same day
GNR - Use Your Illusions released on the same day

In the 70s, it wasn't unheard of for a band to release two albums a year. I know Zeppelin did it. Rush did it too.

A couple of Posters mentioned Guns N'Roses releasing Use Your Illusions 1 and 2 the same day. I'm surprised I didn't incorporate the Use Your Illusions 1 and 2 Albums into my story! LMAO! But in all honesty, Use Your Illusions Albums were not Guns N'Roses Sophomore and Junior Albums. Guns N'Roses Sophomore Album was really GNR Lies which was nowhere near as successful as Appetite For Destruction Album. Lies Album only had ONE major hit, Patience, compared to Appetite For Destruction that had Welcome To The Jungle, Sweet Child Of Mine, Paradise City, Mr. Brownstone, It's So Easy, Rocket Queen and Use Your Illusions 1 and 2 which had November Rain, Estranged, Don't Cry, Live And Let Die, Civil War, Yesterday's, You Can Be Mine, Knocking On Heaven's Door. Many Producers would have written off Guns N'Roses as a one album Wonder when the GNR Lies album came out. Seriously, ONE hit song out of about 10 songs? :/

From March 1974 to March 1976, Rush released four albums. That's pretty crazy. Considering bands today release an album, sometimes just an EP, after four or five years.

The band was also touring constantly, playing upwards of 300 shows a year.

As for GNR, I don't know if producers would have written them off as a one album wonder. They had a ton of cred after Appetite.

GNR Lies is a BAD album IMHO. I only like TWO songs from GNR Lies. Patience and Reckless Life are the only two I actually like. If I were in the Music Industry, I would have seriously considered writing Guns N'Roses off when GNR Lies was released. Also, One in A Million is a HUGE no no. Axl straight up says the N word in it, just a HUGE no no. One In A Million would have most likely gotten them canceled in 2022. In fact, GNR Lies was rereleased recently and One In A Million was wisely and understandably left off in the recent rerelease. No wonder.
