Smile Artist Management Fees

Hi all, first time poster and unsure if I’m in the right place. I have a query about fee structures for artist managers. Very generally, I thought it was industry standard to charge commission only. If I’m approached by a manager who wants to charge me a flat rate until I earn a certain amount, and then move to a commission based fee, should this be an immediate red flag?

I only have very general details at this stage but curious as to whether this fee structure is common. Cheers

The fee structure for artist managers can vary, and it's not unusual to encounter different arrangements. While the standard practice is indeed commission-based, there can be exceptions and variations based on the specific circumstances and negotiation between the artist and the manager.
