Default what makes an amazing band?...(not a "good" band...an AMAZING band...)

i am just wondering what all of you think makes a great band......for me...there are 3 main things...it kinda goes like this.....

3. honesty in music...no mtv inspired lyrics......words that sell make me sick...
2. live show...if you have an awesome live show...ill come to see you...
1.personality...be cool guys...i would rather dish out time and money on a group of nice, fun, cool friends than a bunch of douche bags (ahem...evergreen) who think they are better than everyone else...

Are you serious? heres a little scenario for you...theres these guys in an 'amazing band' and they put on a great live show as far as entertaining, they sling their guitars around and sing with passion and emotion their 'honestly written lyrics' and they are way cool and down to earth, which meets your requirements for a great band of course, but when it comes to the music the lead guitarist knows 3 chords which he plays for every song, the drummer is offbeat, and the bassist is playing the pentonic scale, and the rhythm guitarist is randomly hitting strings while moving his fingers to random frets, as a result, the worst sound anyone has ever heard emerges...but they are a great band excluding any effing musical talent.

nice try though.

...ok...i get that...but i was making a judgement in their character...not ability...that was my original point...basically im looking at garage bands...where i spent most of my time growing up...so when i say "what makes a great band?", im looking at whether or not the group is fun, friendly, and true...all things that would make a small time garage show entertaining and worth checkingout...not everything is so damn black and white......

...why is everything a pissing contest on this site?....
