genre anal arguments are the reason music banter is becoming more and more corrupt.

hookers with machineguns 10-17-2005 04:32 PM

The only thing anal is the metrosexual Fruit Loop boy bands people tote as emo and hardcore around here.

You either know a genre/style and its origins or you don't. That's it. No arguments.

PerFeCTioNThrUSileNCe 10-17-2005 04:37 PM

but the fact that some people do...and that some people dont....starts arguments.

Urban Hat€monger ? 10-21-2005 11:46 AM

Just an idea here but instead of bitching to 12 year old MCR fans about them not being 'screamo' or whatever & picking apart other peoples lists why doesn`t one of you know it all 'screamo' fans have the balls to maybe (for example) do a top 10 beginners guide to the most important 'screamo' albums write perhaps a short peice on each album explaining why they are important , what makes them influencial albums and which bands started the genre or are the future of the genre.

Go on you elitist bastards , one of you have the guts to accept.

hayven109 10-21-2005 12:41 PM

ya As i lay dying is so screamo lol ?!?!! i wouldnt say Stutterfly is though, and then again i havent heard all their stuff, mabey they do make some screamo.

Calm down with the genres.

As I Lay Dying is metalcore. a crossover of metal riffs and melodies with breakdowns and such.

real screamo: Hoover, Indian Summer, Moss Icon, Frail, Clikat Ikatowi. google those bands, download some tracks and decide if you like screamo or metalcore.

hayven109 10-21-2005 07:44 PM

interesting riseagainstrocks, so im guessing you a punk then, or you just like puck, hence you username. well i would say that As I lay Dying is screamo because it does have emo/punk riffs in it. well id settle with the agreement that there a cross between Screamo and metalcore.

You are wrong.

I'm just going to say this from now on in this thread.

Is screamo a knew genre? I keep on hearing about it all of a sudden. My friends brother is in the Bled (or so he says). I dont think As I Lay Dying is a screamo band. I've never heard their music but my brother listened to that band when he was really hardcore and he never listens to crap like the Used.

sleepy jack 10-21-2005 08:53 PM

Screamo isn't new and its not the bled.

Hellhound-138 10-21-2005 08:56 PM

i think the farthest thing from screamo on that list would be story of the year.......wow. ha. to even see them on a list thats titled screamo is funny.

Zealious 10-22-2005 09:19 AM

Pick up:
Portraits of Past- 01010101
Saetia- A Retrospective
This is for the original screamo

If you want to listen to new screamo pick up:
Raein- Il ny a pass de orchestre
La Quiete- La Fine Non è la Fine CD (great CD)
Kite flying Society- Jochem

All of the CDs are enjoyable. I recommend La quiete first and then Raein. If you like those two bands, then get a Demo CD by Killed by Malaise. You might not be used to Portraits of Past because their music still had elements of slow intros and notable crecendos like the original emo bands. Most people here know Saetia; I'm guessing you might not like the screamo parts, but I know you'll like their instrumental parts between the screaming. If you don't want to buy a whole CD, I can give you songs from any of the CDs if you PM me.

Zealious just made a post on the last page...I'd another but he'd probably flip out if I had something skramz and called it emo.

*EDITED*

If I recall correctly, I haven't flipped out about music in like 3 months. The only people that I have disagreements with are Adidass and Urban.

*EDITED*

Sorry if I lose my temper these days. Hopefully in 3-4 weeks college Apps will be done. I would just like to say that although I may sound a little harsh on my posts, I really don't mean any of it.
