Her post was for the benefit of the VAST majority of people who have no idea, not necessarily to mirror her own opinion. There was nothing wrong with what she put, I don't see why the sudden "you don't listen to emo, poseur" comments came about.

But whatever, just thought I'd defend her there.

Thats not aloud here duh.

I understand you name dropping Joy Division just cause a bunch of other forum dorks said they liked them, but why not actually go listen to them. The fact that you're mentioning them in a emo/hardcore forum is my evidence.

Ya know what? I actally listen to ALL of those bands you asshole. But hey, what do I know?! I only copy/pasted someone else's list. And I really think the bands I put into "Crap" are crap compared to the other bands that I listed. And if that makes me a poser, that makes you a dick. And I have learned a lot from say, Zealious and David Frost about emo. And they're right. So since I agree with them, that automatically makes me a poser now? Somehow, that doesn't seem right to me. But your a fucking jerk. So, oh darn.

.angie. 11-10-2005 07:00 PM

You yell at people for thinking My Chemical Romance/The Used/etc. is emo. You yell at me for thinking REAL emo is emo. There is no pleasing you, is there?

Dick.

To be fair, I never called you a poser. This isn't high school. Regardless, I was out of line. Sorry.

Back on topic, you should check out Joshua Fit For Battle.

.angie. 11-10-2005 08:22 PM

Thank you, that is all I was asking for.

.angie. 11-10-2005 09:03 PM

Just checked out Joshua Fit For Battle. All I could find was "Blood Money." It's really good.

Too bad they broke up.

as i lay dying

underoath

atreyu

those are some really good ones

PerFeCTioNThrUSileNCe 12-02-2005 12:34 AM

you would think that someone who called themself "HxCkid" would be one of the scenesters that knows every single genre that ever existed...

as i lay dying = metalcore
underoath(old)= emoish somewhat metalcore (according to misfits.)
atreyu = mainstream metal

A_Perfect_Sonnet 12-02-2005 02:06 AM

Atreyu and AILD are both mainstream versions of metalcore, while old UnderOATH was pretty much straight up metal with some core elements.

i set my friends on fire ( its like screamo but a lil tecno .. yeah) and the song choose your fate by story of the year.

I got dumber reading this thread... And it's not that difficult a concept to grasp what emo is either. If you want some screamo/emo/skramz, check these out:

These are good beginner bands that are relatively easy to find:
Pg.99
I would set myself on fire for you
Saetia
Circle Takes The Square
Hot Cross
I Hate Myself
Moss Icon
City of Caterpillar
Funeral Diner
Orchid

There's a lot more stuff... but some are pretty difficult to find.
