As I Lay Dying is metalcore. a crossover of metal riffs and melodies with breakdowns and such.

real screamo: Hoover, Indian Summer, Moss Icon, Frail, Clikat Ikatowi. google those bands, download some tracks and decide if you like screamo or metalcore.

interesting riseagainstrocks, so im guessing you a punk then, or you just like puck, hence you username. well i would say that As I lay Dying is screamo because it does have emo/punk riffs in it. well id settle with the agreement that there a cross between Screamo and metalcore.

You are wrong.

I'm just going to say this from now on in this thread.

Is screamo a knew genre? I keep on hearing about it all of a sudden. My friends brother is in the Bled (or so he says). I dont think As I Lay Dying is a screamo band. I've never heard their music but my brother listened to that band when he was really hardcore and he never listens to crap like the Used.

i think the farthest thing from screamo on that list would be story of the year.......wow. ha. to even see them on a list thats titled screamo is funny.

Pick up:
Portraits of Past- 01010101
Saetia- A Retrospective
This is for the original screamo

If you want to listen to new screamo pick up:
Raein- Il ny a pass de orchestre
La Quiete- La Fine Non è la Fine CD (great CD)
Kite flying Society- Jochem

All of the CDs are enjoyable. I recommend La quiete first and then Raein. If you like those two bands, then get a Demo CD by Killed by Malaise. You might not be used to Portraits of Past because their music still had elements of slow intros and notable crecendos like the original emo bands. Most people here know Saetia; I'm guessing you might not like the screamo parts, but I know you'll like their instrumental parts between the screaming. If you don't want to buy a whole CD, I can give you songs from any of the CDs if you PM me.
