I'm no expert on hardcore, so my personal choices are therefore pretty obvious. From what I've heard;

Black Flag
Minor Threat
Fugazi
Bad Brains
Crass

Wow I just joined this forum and this was the first thread I viewed. Its disgusting to think that some people think from autumn to ashes is hardcore. Anyway, some good hardcore bands were mentioned. I'm gonna do my best to come up with the shortest list I can.

xlooking forwardx

biohazard(anything before "state of the world address"
bane

Default Real Harcore Bands

I just joined and it seems like a lot of kids here have no idea what real hardcore is. if there are any kids out there who do know what it is, post a list of all you can think of and we can compile a good list of bands for some of these kids to look into. I will post a bunch in a bit, try not to repeat, and if you post a band that is not hardcore it will be deleted(if I can, if not it will be noted as not being real hardcore)

^^^

Hardcore bands and the sound will change. What is considered Hardcore now is not the same when I was into it (Agnostic Front etc). 'Deleting' bands from peoples lists is a little elitist don't you think?

I used to be hella into hardcore, a load of modern straight edge stuff (Champion, Carry On etc) when I was 17/18, but grew out if it quite quickly as got boring and doesn't have much depth (in my opinion). The only bands that you would consider to be "real hardcore" that I still enjoy are:

Minor Threat
Sick Of It All
Paint It Black
Gorrila Biscuits
Miles Away
Another Breath
Verse
Go It Alone
