see. this is where i disagree with you. From Autumn To Ashes, at any point in their musical experience as a band have never been hardcore. They used the hardcore scene as a stepping stone to further their "careers" and their rockstardome like many other bands before and after. They are a band with an identity crisis. They dont know what they want to be, and because of this their music suffers. From Autumn To Ashes in every aspect is not hardcore. They are ****ty pompous dudes playing ****ty music to a group of 13 year old girls who just got back from buying their pre-packaged lifestyles at the closest Hot Topic. That kind of music i have no respect for.

In close, go listen to Combat Wounded Veteran. Thats hardcore.

I have no respect for people that think they have all the answers to everyones musical opinions. It is all based on opinions. Who are you to classify each band correctly...

I THINK GOOD CHARLOTTE IS HARDCORE

I THINK GLASSJAW IS COUNTRY

I THINK RITES OF SPRING IS ELECTRONICA.

i totally agree. its like, some guy goes to me the other day, just before the slipknot album was released in the uk, "how can u like thrice yet be highly anticipating the new slipknot album, it renders everything you ever said about music senseless." like you cant like two different genres. music is opinion. i can say slipknot are emo, because they have some emotional lyrics about girls. i can say linkin park (however i dislike them) are techno because they have some synthesizers and **** like that, or they are a hip hop band, and that could be my opinion.

that is one thing that really bugs me. people saying a band is **** when they have clearly listened to one or two songs. you find me a crowd 13year olds that have heard of from autum to ashes. they are very talented, not my favorite, but by no means sh!t. you cannot say a band is sh!t without any backup.

I dont have nearly as much of a problem with people putting music into genres as much as I do when this frost guy comes in here and starts telling people that there music sucks, you just don't do that everyone has their own opinion ok there buddy!! Oh yeah and Fata is a great band with loads of talent you can argue that they suck when your band has achieved their state of well deserved recognition

and more power to thrice because I think that Jay-z is some damn good bluegrass!!! Oh yea one more thing frost Fata is a branch off of emo music, its not popular goth/prep goth stuff so people wouldnt go to hot topic, because it has nothing to do with them so until next time....DONT TRASH FATA

wow, well i didnt think this would cause such an uproar and get everyones panties in a twist. and for the record i have tried to endure from autumn to ashes for about 3 or 4 years. Their first demo cd i actually enjoyed. then the next stuff they released was eh.. and not as good as they could be. then the first full length cd came out, the stuff that most of you probably first from them. take her to the music store i believe it is called. i actually bought it, it was sub par with predictable time changes and break downs. the music sounded like it could have been written in a day. tremelo picking-->breakdown-->strumming-->another chuggy breakdown--> a rockstar singing part---> then a breakdown. and after that i still didnt say anything about them. that was untill hellfest when they played to a bunch of little girls and acted like they were the hottest **** in the world. That was when they started getting to me, then they released that joke of a cd and started with these music videos and ****. that cd and the songs on it are probably the worst thing i have ever heard. the saddest thing about a band is when you know they have talent, but they dont use it.
and as far as classifying music, and trashing it, i am only stating my opinion. when i hear people say i like emo music, in almost every case, they never ever have heard of most of the bands that made emo what it is. most people dont know emo was in fact around in the 80's and that upsets me. when people say they like emo, this means they like thrice and taking back sunday and thursday.. ect. i will never say that those bands are bad, however i do not enjoy them. all i am trying to get out is that people should try listening to some other (real) forms of emo.

end rant.
