I didn't mention them because they aren't emo.

It's difficult boxing in bands to all these various genres I find. What about bands like Finch and Alexisonfire? There is no mention of them yet they are two of the most influential bands in recent times upon the emo genre? I understand that Emo began as something entirely different to what it is now but it appears to me that some old skoolers don't want to roll with the times and accept what Emo has actually evolved into.

The quote unquote true screamo genre is way bigger than the faux emo scene. That kind of emo hasn't evolved it's more like a weird stepbrother that no one wants anything to do with that strayed to the side.

Step brother, still family though! I think you're undermining it's popularity and influence. Only time will tell.

Popularity and influence has nothing to do with it getting on here, it actually playing a part in the genre itself does. Faux-emo doesn't, because its not emo it doesn't sound anything like it.
