Expletive Deleted 01-15-2007 05:55 PM

Got this off OiNK a few hours ago, but my speakers aren't working. :( :( :(

acratertocoffin 01-16-2007 03:23 PM

Crowquill and swimintheundertow make me smile.

swim 01-16-2007 03:34 PM

We have that effect on people.

sleepy jack 01-16-2007 03:44 PM

Yes we do, which is awkward sometimes.

I think you mean the musicians of Hot Cross are far more talented than those of Saetia.
I agree with that, but it isn't exactly relevant.
It doesn't have much to do with explaining why you like the band.

Besides, that's why I believe Saetia>>Hot Cross.

Billy Werner is to Dallas Taylor as Saetia is to Underoath.
Saetia just came first, and was much more innovative.
My opinion is not just based on their influence.

Also, thank you for the album!
Youpi.

So the new is one is pretty much more of the same. I'm not complaining but it just sounds like they knew if they experimented while switching label they were would a lot of fuss.

sleepy jack 05-01-2007 06:23 PM

OMFG65DAYSOFSTATIC.

Trauma 05-02-2007 04:58 PM

Omg at all except Hot Cross.
Meh to FBTMOF.

But This Will Destroy You and 65 Days Of Static, ahh.

PerFeCTioNThrUSileNCe 05-08-2007 12:51 PM

^Yeah that tour's coming through here.. Should I go?

Trauma 05-08-2007 02:25 PM

F*ck yes.

Do you even have to ask??

PerFeCTioNThrUSileNCe 05-08-2007 04:15 PM

Well...the last time I saw Fear Before the March of F@gs they sucked...played like **** and then said that we were the worst crowd they'd played for on the tour. That was when they were touring with BTBAM and Norma Jean.

...that would be my only reason for hesitation.

swim 05-08-2007 04:16 PM

This Will Destroy You is sick as hell live.

bardonodude 05-08-2007 10:12 PM

I really want to see them on tour, so many good bands!

I saw them on that same tour at the recher, UGHH, Fear Before really did suck live. I HATED THEM. The show I went to was one of the most boring I have ever been to. Plus someone stage dove right on top of my f'ing head.

Trauma 05-08-2007 11:11 PM

Yeah that ****ing hurts!

Speaking of which...the bassist whacked the singer in the face and busted his cheek open with the tuning heads....that was classic. (this is FBTMOF I'm referring to)

Meh to FBTMOF.

But This Will Destroy You and 65 Days Of Static, ahh.

My tickets to this came in the mail last week and I freaked a little when it said Fear Before the March of Flames before I realized what it was.

I'll probably see TWDY, 65dos, and Hot Cross and then leave.

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 05-19-2007 02:05 PM

Just out of curiosity, is this tour coming to Vancouver?

sleepy jack 05-19-2007 03:52 PM

It doesn't look like it heres the dates though.

Same here.

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 05-19-2007 03:53 PM

Nope, no Vancouver. Lame.

richTWLOHA 05-28-2007 04:01 AM

Hotcross are like, ****ing awesome

tho saetia>

Alexander the Grape 05-29-2007 11:01 PM

I think Saetia>Hot Cross, barely. I really love the technical riffs Hot Cross lays down. That being said, I thought Risk Revival was pretty mediocre, probably because it wasn't as technical and the singing was really poppy in the bad way.

beat yr own KID 05-30-2007 07:27 AM

saetia had more influence but as far as song writing goes, hot cross has got em beat pretty bad

acratertocoffin 05-30-2007 02:28 PM

Though I think the two are radically different in every way so that to compare the two would be rather pointless, I'd have to say that Hot Cross is immensely superior to Saetia.

chickendude 05-31-2007 08:48 AM

Are you guys serious? All Hot Cross songs come across as incredibly forced and generic.

lol generic? who else sounds like them?

chickendude 05-31-2007 12:49 PM

The guitar is nothing special, just a bunch of little riffs that are a bit technical but just plain boring. Lyrics are pretentious and the vocals don't fit well into the music. Granted, I find them better than most other "post-hardcore" bands out there, but they're still nothing special. I don't see how you can not get bored by this... you just can't feel any emotion behind it. It feels like they're playing just to play (and it feels that way live, too). I wish it was less technical, because as it is it's far too rigid/structured. I would compare them to The Fall of Troy (not quite so boring as they, though), maybe, or an even less interesting At the Drive-In. I'm sure I could find a number of other bands who remind me of them, but I don't listen to them as I find them boring and emotionless.

acratertocoffin 05-31-2007 04:25 PM

By stark contrast, I think that Hot Cross are much more interesting, emotionally charged, and original than Fall of Troy, but all of that is subjective anyway.

Wierd. I don't get that at all from them. Especially live.
