I have a question. Are you an uber big fan of Sound Devastation Records or are you affiliated if so how? By the way just so you know it's your fault I like chaotic noise music now, thanks. And, Aotea is pretty good I'll probably buy an album or ep or something...

my boyfriend and i own it... and cool, glad ive had some effect

this is their debut release. it was recorded a while ago but as they couldnt find a label they went on a hiatus... when we contacted them they pretty much reformed and are now touring and writing new stuff.

they're a band that are either loved or hated.. we love them!

some updates on Aotea..

JOSH LEAVES THE BAND
yup... only one hour into the UK tour and vocalist Josh decided to leave the band. After cancelling the tour, having a chat, and un-cancelling the tour, the rest of the band decided to continue as a 4-peice and carry on with the tour, sharing the vocal parts between them.

i managed to catch them on the very first date - and being the optimistic and easy going guys they always are, they played their first 4-peice set to a stunned crowd - they were fantastic. if you didnt know they were one-down, you couldnt tell.

THEY NOW POSE FOR PHOTOS

MERCHANDISE
Along with the new SD website, we have a new SD shop - now including Aotea t-shirts, badges, patches, and bow hair clips... along with a Album & T-shirt deal for only £11. all orders over £5 still come with freebies!

the tour is still going on...

I'd say it those situations that judge a bands calibur the most. If you can still manage your instruments and share vocal duty after losing an all-time vocalist, you're sexy. Except if you're a Victory records "emo" band.

they did handle it amazing well.. the three of them always did do a few vocals but obviously its a big change to do all of them.

but... they managed it, and it made for an even more exciting live show. i think they will end up better as a 4-peice.

Just bringing this up again to give some progress on the Album!

'Apocalypse in Transmetropolita' now has a UK retail release date of 16/10/06 so from that day onwards you should be able to find it in all your local record stores!

If you cant find it, we have a favour to ask... even people who dont want it/have it - it would greatly help us if you could order it in (cat no. SD001 or SD001CD) so when you dont collect it, they have to put it on display. if people cant see it they wont buy it.

it is also up on Amazon here
Play.com here
and its only £4.99 from HMV.co.uk here!

though obviously if you buy it from any of these places you miss out on the lovely badges and lollipops you get if you order from us!

oooh.. you can also get an Aotea track with Rock Sound magazine! we are part of a UK label collective and have two tracks on a free sampler which you can get with the magazine.... but only if you buy it from Tesco! (but random i know) the sampler features some other amazing bands of all styles so its worth picking up for anyone.

You are promoting the hell out of these guys lol.

I listened to their stuff... am listeing to their stuff, really good man, I might have to ask Sam Goodys if they can get a few of their albums to come in. I got them to get Hot Water Music so I don't see why I can't talk them into ordering some of these albums.
