ok, anyway for the topic, nobody answered me yet.
what about screamo and electronica? i mean, i think Cobra Kai had some electronics, but i never really heard total exploitation of that. O_O

i've been trying to do weird stuff lately, and i'm running out of ideas

It's not dying or there are plenty of different sounds and one of the more diverse of genres if I say so myself.

Little late with your rebuttle there dude.

Considering this thread was started in 2006 and its now 2009 and screamo is still going strong, i don't think its going anywhere.

Underoath was cool when they had Dallas. Changing of Times was a great album.

1. Since when has Screamo had any merit as a genre to anyone other than angry pre-teens and scene kids?

2. How is it possible for a thread to get hijacked mid-way by Grunge discussion? Seriously...

3. Screamo bands scream. There's no other way about it. Otherwise the label makes no sense whatsoever. What are you elitists trying to prove here?

I don't wish to troll but what do you expect with a genre like screamo. For god's sake it's taking one musical technique (sappy emotion, screaming) and stretching it into a genre. The "emotion" these bands put out by screaming isn't even felt after a while, it just gets boring. Sorry, I just had to throw in my opinion.

So why would we want one?
I get that the discussion is over... but seriously man. Not cool. I live in a town where people are so stuck up about music that they think only their opinion is correct and thus they state it like a fact. But now it seems you can't even get on the internet anymore without somebody forcing their opinions down your throat. Shame shame..
